Like so many of you, our team at Impact Public Schools is quickly evolving to support the needs of our students and families during COVID-19.
As we work to adapt rapidly, we have found several silver linings in this challenge. Our families are incredibly resilient and give us strength. Our young scholars are more independent than ever – they are rising to the challenge! Our educational model is deepening as we iterate on phase two of an equity-drive distance learning approach. And, we are building bridges with new national and local partners as we collectively work to ensure that students most impacted by the virus aren’t left further behind.
We want to share what we’re learning and gather feedback along the way from trusted educators and partners. Thus, please join us for a webinar on Monday, April 20 at 10am PT focused on Impact’s approach to equity-driven Distance Learning, which integrates social emotional learning, individualized small group instruction and de-colonized, hands-on project based learning.
We will share our rationale for designing an early elementary model that balances synchronous instruction, real-time teacher feedback, peer-to-peer connection, virtual instructional coaching and parent training/support.
Click here to sign up and feel free to share this with friends. We look forward to “seeing” you soon. In the meantime, please take good care.
In partnership,
Jen Wickens, Kristen McCaw & Abby Cedano
